Join us for the next UNDICI Book Club, our relaxed monthly book club in Old Amersham for those who enjoy a good book and a great glass of wine.

In October we’ll be discussing People Pleaser by Bryony Gordon — a funny, sharp and highly relatable novel about what happens when you’ve spent so long keeping everyone else happy that you’ve forgotten what you actually want.

Olivia Greenwood has been trying to please people for years — at work, at home, in her marriage and with her family. But after one particularly disastrous day and an even more unexpected night out, something shifts. Suddenly, Olivia finds herself unable to keep saying yes when she really means no.

Warm, witty and painfully recognisable in places, People Pleaser explores burnout, relationships, expectations, identity and the pressure — particularly on women — to be everything to everyone.

It’s a fun read with plenty underneath the surface, and exactly the sort of book that should get us talking around the table.

Whether you’re joining us for the first time or returning to the table, the evening is informal, welcoming, and open to everyone.

Monthly UNDICI Book Club

The UNDICI Book Club meets on the second Wednesday of every month at 7pm at our Italian wine bar and bookshop in Old Amersham.

Each month we select a title to read and discuss together. Some evenings may include guest authors or themes; others will simply be a table of regulars and conversation that moves naturally along with a glass of good wine.
