Fizzy Happiness has opened a new chapter in Old Amersham with the launch of UNDICI: Books & Bubbles — a wine-and-books concept designed for people who enjoy discovering a great glass of Italian wine in the same way they discover a great book: slowly, thoughtfully, and with curiosity.
Created by founder Kristyna Weston, UNDICI brings together two cultural rituals — reading and wine — in a single, carefully curated space. While coffee-and-book pairings are familiar on British high streets, pairing serious Italian wine with independent books is far rarer. UNDICI was designed to fill that gap, offering a place where guests can browse shelves, taste small-production wines, and stay as long as the conversation — or the chapter — lasts.
A New Kind of Wine Destination in Buckinghamshire
At the heart of UNDICI is wine. Fizzy Happiness is a women-led UK specialist in Italian sparkling and small-production wines, working exclusively with independent, family-run producers across Italy. The brand is particularly known for its focus on Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, widely regarded as the highest expression of Prosecco and still relatively unknown to many UK drinkers.
UNDICI is one of the very few places in the UK where visitors can explore Prosecco at this level — from vineyard-specific bottlings to region-led selections that highlight the diversity of Italy’s wine landscape. Alongside sparkling wines from the UNESCO-listed hills north of Venice, the wine list spans still wines from regions including Veneto, Piedmont, Tuscany and southern Italy, each chosen for its sense of place and small-batch character.
From Travel Inspiration to a Local Cultural Space
“Some of our favourite moments when travelling are spent in independent bookstores and local wine bars,” says founder Kristyna Weston. “We wanted to create a beautiful space for wine and book lovers in Buckinghamshire — somewhere people can come to meet, or come on their own, and feel no rush, just enjoyment and connection.”
That philosophy shapes every part of UNDICI. The space is designed for browsing, tasting and staying, rather than quick visits or fast service. Books are edited, not stocked in volume. Wines are chosen for story and provenance, not trend. The result is a venue that sits somewhere between wine bar, bookshop and cultural meeting place.
More Than a Bar: Part of the Fizzy Happiness Wine Brand
UNDICI joins La Dolce Bolla in Marlow — the Prosecco and Italian wine bar recently named Best Bar in Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire by the Muddy Stilettos Awards — as part of the wider Fizzy Happiness brand. Beyond its venues, Fizzy Happiness also operates an online shop and trade supply business, bringing curated Italian wines to private customers and hospitality partners across the UK.
With UNDICI, the brand extends its mission beyond the glass, creating a space where wine education, cultural curiosity and community come together under one roof.
